The story of human civilization is a story of innovation and change. At various points in time old paradigms are replaced by new. At the moment people are worried that machines powered by Artificial Intelligence will usurp human jobs. However, I strongly disagree with this points of view.

At the outset I would acknowledge that breakthrough technologies like Artificial Intelligence and smart machines will create large scale change in the way we work and live. Several industries have already started seeing widespread impact in the way they function. Therefore, those who are not ready for these changes will suffer to a large extent.

Nevertheless, this will not be the first time in human history that jobs have been replaced by machines. In all cases, people moved on to better and more comfortable jobs. The key is whether or not they are ready to reskill and learn new things. Machines will after all need humans in various roles to function. As an example, the advent of assembly line led to a large reduction in the number of factory hands required. However, it also created jobs for people who could operate and maintain the assembly line. It led to several new career opportunities.

To summarize, it is true that human jobs will be replaced by robots and intelligent machines, but it is not a cause of worry provided we prepare ourselves for the changing landscape.

Teaching and learning are central to the functioning of human society. Education industry has always looked for more engaging and innovative ways of teaching, such as animation and mobile applications. In my opinion, such innovations have great value, however sitting and learning from a teacher in a classroom is equally important.

In a world where almost everything has a smartphone interface, it would be unwise to ignore the great role that apps and technologies such as interactive animation play in education. The apps make it possible to learn at our own schedule and in the way we find the best. Use of interactive technologies make the learning content more engaging and appealing for younger children. Research has proved that children learn faster if the teaching utilizes colors, music and animated characters.

However, all of these technologies cannot replace the experience of sitting in a classroom. Even in a classroom, a teacher can use animated content and technology to make her lessons better. Humans are wired to learn from other humans. The simple presence of a teacher inculcated discipline and respect towards the subject. Moreover, a teacher can understand a student like no technology can and thus impart important life lessons.

To summarize, I enthusiastically welcome the role of applications and animation in teaching, however I equally acknowledge the importance of classroom teaching.
